Today in History: President Clinton Impeached

Today in History – December 19, 2017 –> December 19, 1998

Despite the fact he vowed to finish his term, President Bill Clinton was officially impeached. The House of Representatives approved two articles of impeachment that charged Clinton of lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice.

What was he lying about?

Clinton was having an affair with Monica Lewinsky, a 21-year-old unpaid intern in November 1995. The two have been seen a dozen of times having sexual encounters in the White House and when they were confronted, they denied everything. After a lengthy investigation, Clinton was given the boot, but he proved himself to be a devote president to his country and remained where he was.

However, his impeachment will not go away and will still mark this day of December 19th as the day he was not recognized as the President of these United States of America.

Now… What are we going to do about the President we have now??? Any Ideas?

  1. Interesting commentary. I believe that even though we vote, God remains in control of world affairs. Our current President is in office for a number of reasons. He is a wake up call that we seek the Lord while he maybe found. Trusting in the mercies which he gives to all. Yes, even our President.

    • Yes indeed. We may not like or agree with our current president, but we must remember God is always in control and that is why we should trust in Jesus. God knows what he is doing. Thank you for your comment!!
